Helen Shea

Following a career break to look after my three children, I studied Sociology at Exeter University, and then went on to train as a Family Mediator with ADRgroup in 2007. I am supervised for my professional practice in accordance with the best advice for mediators working in this field. My practice is kept up to date by attending professional development courses as well as meeting up with other mediators to share good practice. I am currently a member of the Family Mediators Association.

I have also trained and work as a community mediator for Sanctuary/ Shaftsbury housing association and Devon Mediation Service. My interests lie in the area of communication, particularly Marshall Rosenburg's work on Non-Violent Communication, which I see as a useful tool in helping couples to negotiate more effectively.
